Description

The length of males is from 5.1 to 12.0 mm, females from 4.84 to 10.53 mm. Due to the elongated body shape with constrictions and a small rounded stalked abdomen, Myrmecium looks like ants . Similar to the genus of spiders Sphecotypus OP-Cambridge, 1895 (Southeast Asia, Neotropics), on the basis of the presence of a deep constriction on the narrowed cephalothorax, but differs from it and other representatives of the Castianeirinae subfamily by three deep prosomal constrictions (including between basins II and III and between III and IV) [1] [3] .

Systematics

38 species whose validity was verified during the genus revision conducted in 2017 by Brazilian arachnologists David Candiani , Belo Horizonte , Minas Gerais , Brazil ) and Alexander Bonaldo ( Alexandre B. Bonaldo , Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi, Coordenaã de Zoologia, Laboratório de Aracnologia, Belem , Para ). It is included in the Castianeirinae subfamily of the Corinnidae spider family [2] .
