At the 84th minute, when Shakhtar's corner midfielder Mikhail Sokolovsky gave in, only the Pitmen's defender Vladimir Pyanykh found himself without guardianship from the opponent. Having played ahead of the curve, he cut the ball with the head into the Dynamo goal. The score until the end of the meeting did not change, and Shakhtar celebrated its third title of the USSR Cup winner in football.
