Marshalljohnstonia (Latin) is a monotypic genus of dicotyledonous plants of the Asteraceae family ( Asteraceae ), including the species Marshalljohnstonia gypsophila Henrickson [2] . Selected by American botanist James Salberg Henrikson in 1976 [3] .

The only species is endemic to Mexico [4] , known from the Sierra de las Delicias area in western Coahuila [5] , in the Chihuahua desert [6] .
They are found on gypsum deposits on the slopes [5] .
