Born March 25, 1901 in the city of Nashville, Tennessee [1] [2] .

Education

In 1924 he graduated from Princeton University, receiving a bachelor’s degree in humanities [2] .

In 1928 he graduated from Harvard University, receiving a bachelor's degree in law [2] .

Career

From August 18, 1950 to August 3, 1951 - Deputy Director of the CIA.

From August 1951 to February 1956, he was a freelance special assistant and senior consultant to the director of the CIA.

From September 1, 1956 to January 7, 1957 - Special Assistant to President Eisenhower in the field of national security [2] .
