In the World Cup, Bouvet made his debut on December 9, 1980 , in January 1986, won his only career victory at the World Cup stage, in slalom. In addition, has in his account 2 hits in the top three at the stages of the World Cup, both in slalom. The best achievement in the overall World Cup is for Bouvet the 25th place in the 1985/86 season.

At the 1984 Olympics in Sarajevo, he won a bronze medal in slalom, and also became the 14th in giant slalom.
