The river is 64 km long and has a basin area of ​​6,850 km².

The certificate flows from the northern part of Lake Vozhe , flows along its entire length to the north through an uninhabited and sparsely populated area. The width of the river is from 40 to 120 meters.

In the upper reaches, the river flows in marshy, forested shores; in the middle reaches, the river crosses a rocky ridge, forming small sills. At this site in the river there are a large number of boulders, the channel narrows to 10-15 meters, the flow accelerates, the banks are high, in some places steep. In the lower part of the river, the current weakens, the banks again become low and swampy. The view flows into the southern part of Lake Lacha with two sleeves.

The river was previously navigable from the village of Gorka, the final destination of the Kargopol-Gorka passenger line (103 km). At this site was exposed shipping situation, consisting of edging milestones. The mouth of the river was marked with landmarks. In the XIX century there was an attempt to lock the river. Above the village of Gorka, a gateway was built at the threshold.
