Kazan University graduated in 1853 . Prior to his retirement in 1883, he served as a doctor in military hospitals. He was recognized as a doctor of medicine by the St. Petersburg Medical and Surgical Academy in 1856 for his thesis: “De nicotino respectu toxicologico forense” (St. Petersburg).
In 1859 he edited the medical journal "Hygea", based on the principles of natural sciences and moral philosophy, in which he published articles:
