Tradition
In the Christian tradition, a number of miracles are attributed to the saint. According to legend, he received a robe from the hands of the Holy Virgin. His vision of the Virgin Mary is a popular subject of Spanish painting . Tradition has it that he saw the Virgin Mary with the angels accompanying her, sitting on his episcopal throne in the cathedral . As he approached, she put on a robe taken from heaven.
Proceedings
The writings attributed to Ildefons of Toledo were published in 1576 . Contributing to the development of the cult of Our Lady in Spain , he wrote Liber de illibata virginitate s. Mariae contra infidèles ”, where the Motherwort of the Mother of God proved.
