Biography

Received a musical education in St. Petersburg and Paris. Then she improved her vocals in Italy.

She sang on the theatrical stages of Europe, mainly in Italy. She possessed a beautiful, well-crafted, rare in range voice, artistic and artistic talent and a high culture of performance. In Russia, she made her debut in the role of Rosina (The Barber of Seville) in 1884 in St. Petersburg.

In the spring of 1894, she accompanied the piano to F. I. Chaliapin, who gave a solo charity concert in support of drought victims in Kars and Yerevan [1] .

November 21, 1900 in Kiev, as part of the troupe of Prince Alexei Tsereteli , performed the part of Yarmilia in the opera "Forest Tsar" by composer and conductor Vyacheslav Suk. The libretto of the opera was written by I. Fricheng on the plot of the Czech poem “May” ( Czech Máj , 1836) by Karel Maha [2] .

In the early 1900s, she took part as a one-time guest performer in Russian opera performances organized in Chisinau by entrepreneur G. Ya. Shein [3] .

Together with the opera singer Elizaveta Dekanova in 1900 she performed excerpts from the opera Anthony and Cleopatra by S. V. Yuferov .

In 1904 she left the opera stage. As a chamber singer, she repeatedly performed in concerts, including with her brother - composer and pianist Genarii Korganov. Leaving the scene, took up teaching. She was a professor at the Music and Drama School of the Moscow Philharmonic Society, then taught at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. After 1917 she left Russia for Paris. She taught at the Russian Conservatory. S. Rachmaninov in Paris.

Among the students: Ksenia Derzhinskaya , Elena Katulskaya , Alexandra Matova , Maria Allina , Godovskaya, Easterlova, Olga Pyzhova.

Died March 25, 1937 in France [4] [5] . She was buried at the Russian Orthodox cemetery Kokad in Nice.
