Frizman, Leonid Genrikhovich

Born in a family of teachers. In 1941-1944 he lived in the evacuation in Uralsk .

In 1957 he graduated from Kharkov Pedagogical Institute (Russian language and literature), in 1963 - Kharkiv State University (German language).

In 1957-1970 he taught at school.

In 1967 he defended his thesis ("Social and literary positions of E. A. Baratynsky"), in 1977 - his doctoral dissertation ("Russian Elegy in the Romantic Age").

In 1965–2013, he taught at the Kharkov Pedagogical Institute (University) , since 1980 - Professor, in 1994–2010 - Head of the Department of Russian and Foreign (World) Literature.

Among the graduates of more than 60 doctors and candidates of philological sciences.

Author and compiler of 45 books and more than 550 articles.
