Balkan Peninsula
Staroplaninsky zone is one of the physical and geographical zones of Bulgaria. Staroplaninsky natural-geographical region is located almost in the center of Bulgaria and is a complex system of mountain ranges and ridges. Belongs to the Alpine-Himalayan mountain system of young mountains. Given the location, height and long extent of these mountain ranges, we can assume that this is a kind of natural border between northern and southern Bulgaria. Due to its natural resources, this region determines a significant part of the country's natural resource potential.
