Moscow Automobile and Road State Technical University (MADI) ( abbr .: Officer MADI , dean. General information
It was established by the Decree of the Council of People 's Commissars of the USSR # 748, dated December 13, 1930, on the basis of the road faculty of the Moscow Institute of Railway Engineers and the Higher Road School TsUDORTRANS . The complex of buildings of MADI was designed by the Chief Architect of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the USSR, Honored Architect of the RSFSR Alburi Magomedovich Alkhazov .
Since 1992 it has the status of a technical university, retaining its traditional name. Scientific and pedagogical work was conducted by over 800 professors and teachers, including about 100 doctors and about 500 candidates of science.
Since 2010, the Institute has a new name - Moscow Automobile and Road State Technical University (MADI).
The university teaches students in 32 specialties and 9 areas of bachelor training. Categories of graduates - bachelors, masters, engineers, managers. MADI maintains ties with road structures in Moscow and the regions.

Criticism
According to the Dissernet network community, MADI has repeatedly (more than 75 times) defended dissertations written with violations of scientific and academic ethics ( plagiarism ) [6] . Also among the teaching staff of the technical university, nine teachers were found who defended such dissertations (for example, Leonid Isaakovich Berner, professor at the MADI department of engineering, [7] Andrei Mikhailovich Ivakhnenko, professor at the MADI department, and Alexander Vladimirovich Libenko, professor [9] ) and Dean of the Faculty of Automobile Transport Solntsev Aleksey Aleksandrovich [10] .
Competition
Formula Student
“Formula Student” is a competition in which students independently design, manufacture and assemble a small racing car. The MADI team has existed since 2005, and in August 2006 for the first time the SEG MADI (Students Engineering Group MADI) team from Russia took part in the Formula Student Germany World Championship on the Hockenheim Ring Formula 1 circuit.
"Legend" of the series - an order to build thousands of racing cars according to strict regulations for each class. A virtual customer company arranges a tender and makes a request to various student engineering teams, which should create a car in one year. At an international forum, each participating team seeks to prove that its result is better.
Formula Hybrid
“ Formula Hybrid ” is a competition in which students, using knowledge of modern electronics and electrical engineering, create a fundamentally new combined energy structure of a car, increasing its fuel economy and technical characteristics.
In 2008, the Formula Hybrid MADI team took first place in the class of technical projects and business presentations in Italy in intense competition among 7 European teams. Already in 2009, the Dragonfly car with a hybrid drive was created by the efforts of the university team. He took part in the US World Cup on the NASCAR - "New Hampshire Motor Speedway" and took 16th place out of 32, which was an excellent debut. In 2010, the Bumblebee car went to the Endurance race in the USA and took 15th place out of 30 teams. So far, the team remains the only Russian team to create a car with a hybrid drive of the world's largest engineering series Formula SAE (Formula Student), as well as performing with it in the United States.
In 2011, the team took part in the Italian stage, where it won first place on points with a Colibri car, but could not complete the Endurance race due to problems with the engine cooling system.
