Biography
Vafa Nusrat kizi Fatullayeva was born on August 25, 1945 in Baku in the family of the artist Nusrat Fatullayev and actress Okuma Kurbanova . In 1971 she graduated from the Azerbaijan State Institute of Arts named after M.A. Aliyev . Since 1970, she played on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Drama Theater named after M. Azizbekov [1] .
Among the famous roles of Fattulaeva are Gulgyaz (“The Song Stays in the Mountains” by Ilyas Efendiyev ), Shirin (“The Legend of Love” by Nazim Hikmet ), Tanzil (“If You Don't Burn” Nabi Khazri ), Sharafnis (“ Monsieur Jordan and Dervish Mastalishah ” Mirza Fatali Akhundova ), Beatrice (“Much Ado About Nothing” by William Shakespeare ), Banovsha (“The Hillbilly” by Mirza Ibragimov ), Rena (“ Iblis ” by Huseyn Javid ) [1] .
In 1982, Vafa Fatullayeva was awarded the title of Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR, and in 1984 she became a laureate of the State Prize of the Azerbaijan SSR [1] .
In addition to the theater, Fatullaeva also played in television productions [1] .
Vafa Fatullaeva was terminally ill [2] and died on May 21, 1987 [3] [4] . After 2 months, her father Nusrat Fatullaev died, for whom the loss of Wafa was a huge tragedy. After the death of her daughter, Okuma Kurbanova’s mother [2] fell ill and died a year later [3] .
