History
The section from the current Kosygin Avenue to the current highway of the Revolution since 1896 was called the Koltush highway . The modern name appeared according to some sources in 1918 [1] , according to others - March 22, 1922 [2] . The name Koltushskoye Shosse has been preserved beyond the part of the road that passed the railway.
In the 1960s, the street was extended to the north, beyond the modern street of Chemists, passing through the Okhta Dam .
On December 6, 1976, Commune Street was extended south to Hasan Street.
In December 2004, a railway crossing was closed linking Kommuny Street and Koltushskoye Shosse. Instead of moving, an overpass was built in the alignment of Kosygin Avenue.
There are plans to further extend the street to the north - until the prospective continuation of Marshal Blucher Avenue .
