Awwwards (Awwwards Online SL) is an online competition site for professional web designers and developers . [1] The main goal is to recognize and promote the best innovative solutions in web design. Every year, the Awwwards Conference and Award Ceremony, held in major cities in the US and Europe , presents the best sites for the whole year.

Awwwards was founded in 2009, with headquarters in Valencia , Spain . [2]
Content
Nomination Process
At the first stage of the nomination process, web designers add their work through a special form on the Awwwards website to participate in the “ Website of the Day ” nomination. [3] Subsequently, the work is evaluated by the Awwwards community and an international jury consisting of prominent designers, developers and online agencies. [4] All sites that won the "Site of the Day" nomination are published in the annual book "365 Best Internet Sites from Around the World".
At the second stage of voting, the six best sites of each month participate in the “ Site of the Month ” nomination and are reviewed by the jury for the second time. The site with the most votes receives the title of “ Site of the month ”.
12 winning sites participate in the final phase of the competition: “ Site of the Year ”. This award is given at the Awwwards Conference and Award Ceremony.
Jury
The jury consists of multidisciplinary designers, developers, journalists and agencies from around the world. A team of experts evaluates the talent, effort, technicality, and understanding of what is included in the web projects submitted for consideration.
Among the famous jury members were: Dave Matvin, president of the JQuery Foundation [5] ; Julian Shapiro, creator of Velocity.js and Libscore [6] ; Paul Irish, Google Chrome Evangelist [7] Davy Rudolph, Apple Art Director ; Dan Cederholm , co-founder of Dribbble [8] ; Iris Lieshnianin, editor in chief of Smashing Magazine, and Tobias van Schneider, creative director of Spotify .
In 2016, the Awwwards jury included three representatives from Russia [9] :

Types of Rewards
Awwwards provides two types of awards: designer award and developer award.
Designer Award
The main Awwwards award has long been the Design Award. She appreciates the aesthetic solution , usability and technical advances in web design. Materials are evaluated on four criteria: design, usability , creativity and content. [one]
Developer Award
The Developer Award was created in conjunction with Microsoft and is aimed at developers who have already achieved significant success and mastery in web programming.
Notable Winners
Famous Site of the Year winners include Mercedes , Bloomberg , Bose, Warner Brothers , Volkswagen, and Google . [one]
