Historical Location
The northern garden settlement was located in the west of Serafimovich Street , on the territory of Bersenevskaya Embankment [1] .
The location of the average garden settlement belonged to the areas of Swamp and Baltschug [1] .
The southern garden settlement was located between Baltschug and Zemlyanoy Val [1] .
The last garden settlement was small in area and was located in the place of the future Vorontsovo pole street [1] .
History
In the XV century on the territory of the present Starosadsky lane there were wide royal gardens. In the 16th century, gardens were badly damaged by fire. New gardens were built in the Zamoskvorechye district, between the Moscow River and the Drainage Canal. Four Garden settlements were formed near this garden in the XVI century [1] .
The first inhabitants were the palace gardeners, they looked after the royal gardens [1] .
From the northern settlement until the 21st century, the chambers of Averky Kirillovich remained, he led the royal garden, and the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker on the territory of Bersenevskaya embankment. The southern garden settlement influenced the future name of the area - Gardeners [1] .
In the 18th century, wide gardens were located near Kolomenskoye, and a garden settlement was laid out near them.
Garden settlements gave their name to the following streets: Sadovnicheskaya embankment , Sadovaya Sloboda street and Sadovnichesky lane [1] .
