Production

January 17, 2015 Fox extended the series for the second season ^[1] . Ne-Yo joined the show as the new music producer. ^[2] On April 20, it was announced that Ta'Ronda Jones and Gaburi Sidibé had been promoted to regular membership starting in season two. ^[3] May 11, during the upfront , Fox announced that the season will consist of eighteen episodes, divided into two parts ^[4] . On May 20, it was announced that the season would premiere on September 23, 2015, and the soap opera would continue to be broadcast on Wednesdays in a nine-hour evening slot ^[5] .

On June 2, 2015, it was announced that Adam Rodriguez received a recurring role as a concert promoter who would be sexually interested in Cookies ^[6] . On June 26, Tyra Ferrell joined the series as a lawyer. ^[7] On July 2, Marisa Tomei joined the series in the role of a billionaire, who is connected with the affairs of Lyons ^[8] .
