Biography
Reyhan Ibrahim kyzy Akhundova was born on December 15, 1905 in the city of Guba [1] .
From 1931 to 1935 she studied at the Azerbaijan State Art College. From 1943 to 1945 she was deputy chairman of the Board of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan [1] .
She created portraits (“M. A. Sabir”, “G. Almaszade”, etc.), paintings on everyday topics (“The Old Bazaar”, “Wedding”, “Street”, etc.), landscapes (“Maiden’s Tower”, “Sea”, “View of Mardakan”, etc.), as well as plot compositions (“On the grave of Khanlar”, “Solemn meeting of the Baku Council in 1920”, etc.) and still lifes. In the landscapes of Topchibasheva, a special place is occupied by the nature of the Absheron peninsula [1] .
Topchubashova also created sketches for outfits of song and dance ensembles [1] .
In 1943 she was awarded the title of Honored Art Worker of the Azerbaijan SSR [1] .
Topchibashev died on March 5, 1970 in Baku [1] , 12 days after the death of her son Ibrahim, unable to bear grief [2] .
Family
In 1923 she married a doctor Mustafa Topchibashev . In 1924, the son of Ibrahim was born to the couple, and in 1927 - twin daughters - Zemfira and Elmira [2] .
Ibrahim followed in his father's footsteps and became a surgeon, also composed music. He died in April 1970. The son of Ibrahim Jeykhun Topchibashev is also a surgeon by profession and works as the chief physician of the Central Clinical Hospital of Baku [2] .
Zemfir Topchibashev’s daughter also became a doctor, for many years she was the chief gynecologist of Azerbaijan, now she is the chief gynecologist of Baku [2] .
Elmira Topchibasheva is an assistant professor at the Baku Academy of Music and a piano teacher [2] .
