"Race 2" ( Eng. Race 2 ) is an Indian film of 2013 directed by Abbas and Mastan Burmavalla , the sequel to the 2008 film " Race ". The characters of the first part, Ranvir Singh and Robert de Costa, played by Saif Ali Khan and Anil Kapoor , as well as several new characters performed by John Abraham , Deepika Padukone and Amisha Patel, reappear in the film. Bipasha Basu , who starred in the title role in the first film, appears in a small cameo- role.

Story
Ranvir Singh, the hero of the previous film in the series, meets with the casino owner Vikram and offers him to buy a Euro typewriter. To buy it, Vikram takes a loan of 500 million from the mafiosi of Arman Malik. However, the machine turns out to be a clever trick and Vikram is forced to give all five of his casinos to Arman on account of paying the debt.
This scam was a joint venture of Ranvira and Arman, planned by them a week earlier, when they were brought together by an old friend of Ranvira - detective Robert "RD" de Costa. In honor of the successful execution of the plan, Ranvir, Arman and his half-sister Alina throw a party. On it, Ranvir meets Arman's friend Omisha and sees her photograph of his wife Sonia.
After the party, Ranvir tells RD and his assistant Cherry that he got in touch with Armand since he was guilty of the death of his wife Sonia. Ranvir tries to find out what connects Omisha with his wife, and she informs him that she is her sister Tanya, who became close to Arman to kill him. Ranvir shares in RD a plan for the next scam involving the Shroud of Turin , with which he is going to deprive Arman of everything he has. He also manages to sow doubts about his brother in Alina’s heart. But RD in fear reveals his plan to Arman.
After the successful abduction of the shroud, participants decide to mark this with a glass of wine. Suddenly, Ranviru becomes ill. Alina admits that she chose the side of a relative and mixed poison into the glass, and Omisha that she was not Sonia’s sister, and Arman always knew who Ranvir was. They pick up the shroud and fly away in a private jet. On the plane, Arman takes out a gun and is about to get rid of his sister so as not to share the money. But at that moment, she stands up for someone whom they no longer expected to see.

Madhurita Mukherjee of The Times of India rated the film 3 out of 5, leaving a comment “Thefts, hot beauties, roulette, racing cars, gadgets and jokes - the director's duo Abbas Mastan inserted all this with pompous luxury, if not for an exciting story that shocking and stunning ” [6] . A similar assessment was given by Rubin Khan of , adding that “Race 2” provides what it promises - a beautiful acting ensemble, exotic places, cars, explosions, revenge, lust and love, a couple of good music tracks and, most the main thing is the plot, which unfolds at an exciting pace ” [7] . Taran Adarsh from Bollywood Hungama gave the film 2.5 stars out of 5 and said, “The script does not hold water, the film is not sharp enough, the climax is far from spectacular and overall,“ Race 2 ”pales in comparison with“ Race ”” [8] . The CNN-IBN Rajiv Masand gave the same rating to the film, noting, “The film has no claims to intelligence; its sole purpose is to provide an opportunity to have a good time. In this, for the most part, he is successful ” [9] . Hindustan Times rated Anupam Chopra's film 2 out of 5, writing “The director's duo Abbas Mastan have no complaints about what they are doing - immoderate with an admixture of revenge, a share of robbery and characters who either demonstrate their chiseled bodies in slow motion, or betraying each other ” [10] . An even lower rating was given to the film by Saibal Chatterjee from NDTV [11] .
