Biography

In 1989 he graduated from the film directing department of the Kiev State Institute of Theater Arts. I.K. Karpenko-Kary .

He worked as an assistant director, then - director of the Kiev film studio named after A. Dovzhenko .

Until 2000, he worked in Kiev and, together with his wife Alena Demyanenko, shot five films in Ukraine. Then he lived in Moscow for twelve years, where he created twelve films. When, in order to continue working in Russia, the question of changing citizenship (to Russian) came up, I decided to return to Kiev in order to engage in cinema in Ukraine.

Member of the European Film Academy, member of the Oscar Committee of Ukraine, chairman of the project development commission of the Union of Cinematographers of Ukraine, laureate of the Ivan Mykolaichuk Prize, member of the commission of the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine for presidential awards in the field of culture and art.
