Biography

Born on August 23, 1909 in the village of Babino (now - Udomelsky district of the Tver region ).

He served in the Red Army from 1931 to 1935. He worked as a locksmith, a turner.

With the outbreak of World War II, he was evacuated to Sverdlovsk, where he continued to work at the plant. However, in 1943 he voluntarily went to the front. He got into the 30th Ural Volunteer Tank Corps, where he became a scout. He participated in the battles on the Kursk Bulge and the liberation of Ukraine.

On March 5, 1944, near the village of Maryanovka, as part of a group, he destroyed up to 15 opponents, and about twenty more were captured. The next day, he was marked by the seizure of a staff car with documents. On March 25, near the city of Kamenetz-Podolsky, tanks were promoted across the bridge after they destroyed the covering German detachment. By order of March 29, 1944, Sergeant Minin Vasily Afanasevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 3rd degree for courage and bravery shown in the battle of the guard.

July 27 - August 4 in the territory of the Lviv region was marked by valuable information about the enemy. Destroyed 9 enemies. By order of September 23, 1944, Sergeant Minin Vasily Afanasevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 2nd degree for courage and bravery shown in the battle of the guard.

January 13, 1945 at Lysuv designated the firing points of the Germans, after which they were destroyed by Soviet artillery. On April 19, he conducted reconnaissance in the city of Luckau, which contributed to the proper preparation of the Soviet units for the ensuing battle. By decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the USSR of June 27, 1945, for the exceptional courage, courage and fearlessness shown at the final stage of the Great Patriotic War in battles with enemy invaders of the guard, Senior Sergeant Minin Vasily Afanasevich was awarded the Order of Glory of the 1st degree. He became the full holder of the Order of Glory.

In 1945, demobilized. He lived in Moscow . He died on March 21, 1988. He was buried at the Preobrazhensky cemetery .
