Biography

In 1991, he entered the Salesian Theological Seminary in the city of Cherwinsk nad Wisla ( Poland ). He continued his education at the Salesian Theological Seminary in the city of Lodz (Poland) and at the Pontifical Salesian University in Rome , where he received a license from dogmatic theology. On August 2, 1998, he made eternal monastic vows in the Congregation of Salesians. He was ordained a priest on June 24, 2000 in his hometown.

He served in the parishes Borunov and Zhodishok , served as vicar of the parish of St. Archangel Michael in Smorgon, who is fed by Salesians. From 2001 to 2002, he headed the Salesian Center in Oktyabrsky, Moscow Region. After returning to Belarus, he was rector of the parish of Sts. Peter and Paul in Zhuprany. From 2005 to 2008, he held the position of director of the Salesian society in Minsk, simultaneously fulfilling the duties of a vicar in the Minsk parish of St. John the Baptist. Since 2011 - Director of the Salesian Center in the city of Smorgon and head of the Belarusian province of the Order of Salesians. In 2014, he again headed the Salesian society in Minsk [1] .

On June 9, 2015, Pope Francis appointed Fr. Alexander Yashevsky auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese of Minsk-Mogilev. On June 27, 2015, the episcopal consecration took place, performed by the Apostolic Nuncio Claudio Gugerotti, in conjunction with the Archbishop of Minsk-Mogilev Tadeusz Kondrusiewicz and Bishop of Grodno Alexander Kashkevich [2] . Like all the auxiliary bishops, Alexander Yashevsky became the titular bishop , Bishop of Furnus Maior. Bishop motto, Alexander Yashevsky chose the phrase "Cui Deus est, omnia sunt" (In whom there is God, he has everything) [2] . The task of Bishop Yashevsky will be to work in the Mogilev part of the Minsk-Mogilev archdiocese [2] .

He teaches dogmatic theology at the Minsk Theological College named after sv. John the Baptist. Speaks Belarusian, Russian, Polish and Italian languages [1] . He became the first bishop in Belarus who actively uses social networks [3] [4] .
