Michael Schur

Roman Vintoniv was born and raised in the city ​​of Valley, Ivano-Frankivsk region ^[1] .

By the end of the school he was preparing to become an economist, but he entered the Faculty of Journalism of Ivan Franko Lviv State University , where he graduated from the Department of Television and Radio Broadcasting ^{[1] [2]} . During the academic year, he trained in the Khmelnitsky newspaper “E” and in Lviv shopping and entertainment complex “Lux” , where he was later invited to work at a television studio ^[2] . After that, he worked on the K1 ^{[1] [2]} channel for about a year.

Since January 2007, he worked as a journalist on the Inter TV channel ^{[2] [3] [4]} , and since May 2007, he was a journalist for National Information Systems LLC (NIS), which produced news for this television channel ^{[2] [5]} . He was a reporter for the program Details of the Week ^{[2] [6]} . After the leadership and editorial policy of NISU changed to pro-government and the dismissal of the head of the international department, Natalya Gumenyuk, on December 11, 2009, also left ^{[6] [7] [8] [9]} .

Since January 15, 2010 he worked as a journalist in the "Ukrainian Service of the BBC" ^{[6] [10]} .

Since June 2010, he served as chief editor of the information service of the ZIK TV channel , and since September, he was also the host of the “Look at the Week” program. At this time, Vintonive was responsible for launching and launching the programs “Browse of the day”, “Look at the week”, weather forecast and “Actually, this is serious”. The last program combined elements of a hidden camera, humor and social issues ^[11] . In November 2010, he left the TV channel ^[6] .

Since February 2012, Roman Vintoniv worked as a senior editor of the talk show “Says Ukraine” on the channel “Ukraine”. ^{[9] [12] [13]} .

In February-March 2012 he moved from the editorial office of “ Breakfast with 1 + 1 ” to the department of journalistic investigations of the channel “1 + 1”. However, his first plot for the program "Money" was not broadcast. On April 26, 2014, a month before the 2014 presidential election in Ukraine , Roman Vintoniv, together with Hromadske.tv , began filming Vyo to the Throne program, in which he studied the candidates for the presidency as Michael Schur ^{[17] [18 ] [18 ] ] [19]} . After the elections, starting on June 3, 2014, four more issues of the program were released under the changed name - “Already on the Throne” ^[20] .

On October 18, 2014 at the “ First National ” the premiere of the new weekly satirical news digest “Uteodin” was held with the presenter Roman Vintoniv in the image of Michael Schur ^{[21] [22]} . The project’s creative producer is Yevgeny Samoilenko, screenwriters and editors are Andrei Kondratenko, Alexander Ochakovsky, Yuri Kosmina ^[22] .

Roman Vintoniv calls his creative methods of non-banal journalism “journalism” and “hulalistic” (hooligan journalism ^{[9] [9] [23]} ).

In July 2015, he was mobilized ^[24] , in September 2016 he won the competitions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces sniper groups. October 18, 2016 was demobilized ^[25] .

Michael Schur is a comedic character created by Roman Vintonive. According to legend, Michael Schur is a correspondent for the UT-Toronto TV channel of the Ukrainian Diaspora of Canada , ^[9] sent to Ukraine before the 2012 parliamentary elections to interview local politicians. ^{[9] [13] [26] [27]} . In Canada, he left his wife Amanda, who later came to him in Ukraine ^[28] . Has a cousin Tatyana Schur.
