Denis Vladimirovich Matveev (born April 25, 1983) is a Russian cosmonaut- test detachment of the FSBI NII TsPK named after Yu. A. Gagarin . He has no space flight experience. Prior to joining the cosmonaut corps, he worked as a researcher and engineer at the Research Institute of the CPC.

Biography
Denis Vladimirovich Matveev was born on April 25, 1983 in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg ). From 1989 to 2000 he studied in Star City ( Moscow Region ) at the V.M. Komarov Municipal Secondary School with in-depth study of the English language [1] .
Starting from the 10th grade, he attended preparatory courses at MSTU named after N. E. Bauman , and after graduating from school with a silver medal, he entered the university at the faculty of computer science and control systems [2] . In 2006, he graduated from the university with a degree in Computing Machines, Complexes, Systems and Networks [3] (Department IU6) [4] . After graduating from MSTU for more than 4 years, he worked in the CPC as a junior researcher in the 50th department of the RGNII TsPK (military unit 26266), and was involved in organizing the training of cosmonauts [4] . Since 2009, he worked as a leading engineer of the 5th department of the FSBI NII CPC [3] .
Space Training
On September 7, 2010, he was declared fit for health reasons for being admitted as a candidate for cosmonauts to the cosmonaut corps. On October 12, 2010, by a decision of the Main Medical Commission, he was recommended for admission to the cosmonaut corps of the Federal State Budget Scientific Institution Scientific Research Institute of CPC named after Yu. A. Gagarin (15th set). On November 15, 2010, he was appointed candidate test cosmonaut for the cosmonaut corps of the Federal State Budget Scientific Institution Scientific Research Institute of the CPC named after Yu. A. Gagarin and began one and a half year general space training at the Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Center [1] .
In January 2011, he participated in survival training in a forest near Moscow as part of a conditional crew, together with cosmonaut Roman Romanenko and astronaut Thomas Mashburn . On August 30, 2011, he began flying training: getting to know the L-39 airplane and flight techniques, flying on day and night shifts, mastering complex and aerobatics. On November 17, 2011, at the airfield near Moscow, Chkalovsky began training in zero gravity, reproduced on board the IL-76 MDK laboratory laboratory [3] .
March 13, 2012 began training on extra-ship activities in the hydropower laboratory of the CPC them. Yu. A. Gagarina, which provides for the preparation for typical operations of the VVD in the modification of the Orlan-MK spacesuit. July 31, 2012 passed the state exam at the end of general space training. On August 3, 2012, by the decision of the Interdepartmental Qualification Commission, the qualification “test cosmonaut” [3] was assigned.
From August 10 to 12, 2012, at the Baikonur Cosmodrome, as part of the conditional crew, together with Andrei Babkin and Sergei Kud-Sverchkov, he took part in the practical development of the crew’s actions after landing in the desert [3] .
On July 8–9, 2014, at the 179th Training Center of the Ministry of Emergencies ( Noginsk, Moscow Region), he participated in training on lifting the helicopter in the hover mode [3] .
In September 2014, he took part in flight training to conduct visual instrumental observations (VIN) of natural and man-made objects of Lake Baikal and its surrounding territories. The trainings were carried out on board the Tu-134-LK laboratory laboratory [5] .
Since 2015, undergoing training for flight on a transport manned spacecraft of the Soyuz MS series [6] .
Family, hobbies
Denis Vladimirovich Matveev is married, has one child.
Denis is interested in sports. It has the 3rd rank in swimming and the 1st rank in basketball [3] .
