Biography
Born in 1908 in Livorno . In 1928, he took part in the Olympic Games in Amsterdam , where he won a silver medal in the saber team championship and was 4th in the individual championship. In 1929 he won the gold and silver medal of the International Fencing Championship in Naples. At the International Fencing Championship in Liege in 1930, he won gold and two silver medals. In 1931, he also received a gold and two silver medals at the International Fencing Championship in Vienna. In 1932, he won the gold and two silver medals of the Los Angeles Olympic Games . In 1933 he received two silver medals of the International Fencing Championship in Budapest. In 1934 he won the gold and two silver medals of the International Fencing Championship in Warsaw. In 1935, he won the gold and silver medal of the International Fencing Championship in Lausanne. In 1936 he received a gold and two silver medals at the Olympic Games in Berlin .
In 1937, the International Fencing Federation retroactively recognized all previous International Fencing Championships as world championships. In 1938, Gustavo Marzi won two gold medals at the World Championships in Piestany.
Died of cancer in 1966.
