It was built in the years 1535-1538, like the entire Kitay-Gorod wall. It was a red brick semicircular tower.
In the 1920s, a restoration of the wall was carried out, during which an ancient tower decoration was discovered under the late masonry. In 1934, it was demolished along with most of the Kitay-Gorod wall.
