- Library history
Being a prior, he collected 70 Serbuga manuscripts and printed books of the 16th — 18th centuries for his personal library. The collection included the first Serbian-Uruzhan printed book by Albin Moller in 1574 and Michal Frenzel ’s Sćeni Mateja a Marka in 1670. After his death, the library was bought by the rector of the church of St. Nicholas, Gandry Lyubensky , who donated it to the Serbian preaching community. On December 11, 1827, at the request of Gandriy Seiler, the library was transferred to Leipzig , where it received the name of its founder. In 1929, it was mentioned in the journal Sorabija that the Ponikh Library was kept in the Serboluzhitsky house in Leipzig. In 1945, part of the collection was confiscated by the Soviet trophy brigade and exported to the USSR. In 1999, Yuri Koch , being in Moscow, bought from a private person four boxes of the Ponich Library collection. In 2001, its remaining part was represented in Leipzig.
