The Ogaryov House ( the Ogaryov-Lobanov-Rostovsky House ) is an architectural monument of the 18th – 20th centuries. regional significance in Moscow. Address of the main building: Bolshaya Nikitskaya street , 23/14/9. The house is located on the corner of Bolshaya Nikitskaya Street, Nikitsky Boulevard and Kalashny Lane . Currently, the house is occupied by the Nikitsky Gate Theater.

History
The main part of the building dates back to the 18th century. As of 1753, it was owned by a college adviser S.E. Molchanov. Subsequently, the estate was transferred to the secret adviser N. N. Saltykov, who presented his daughter, who married Prince Y. I. Lobanov-Rostovsky. At the beginning of the XIX century, the house was owned by the Minister of the Interior D.I. Lobanov-Rostovsky. After the fire of 1812, the house was bought and rebuilt in the Empire style by historian D.N. Bantysh-Kamensky . [1] [2]
Since 1824, the estate was owned by P. B. Ogaryov. The childhood and youth of his son, poet and thinker N.P. Ogaryov passed in the house. A circle of liberal-minded youth often gathered in the house, which included A.I. Herzen , V.V. Passek, and others. In 1834, members of the circle were arrested and punished. [1] [2]
