Gyuran, Nazif

Nazif Güran (tour. Nazife Güran ; September 5, 1921, Vienna - December 20, 1993) Turkish composer. Born in the family of a diplomat. I began to receive music education in my childhood studying with my mother, and after studying in the schools of Ankara and Istanbul. She continued her studies in Berlin studying piano with Rudolf Schmidt and composition with Paul Hoffer. Returning to Ankara, she studied with Ernst Pretorius. In 1952 she married Ismail Yilmaz Gyuran, gave birth to a son a year later, and returned to music lessons at the Cologne Academy of Music. In 1969 she returned to Turkey, where she began to teach and compose music.
