“Black Canaan” ( English “The Dead Remember” ) - a horror story by Robert Howard , from the series “ Wild Southwest .” It was written in 1933, corresponded many times and was published in 1936 in the Chicago science fiction magazine Weird Tales . It was first published in Russian in the 1996 two-volume compendium Conan and Other Immortals, translated by Alexander Tishinin [1] . In the genre classification, the work refers to the " southern Gothic " . Also included in the specific journal sub-genre “ Weird menace ” (Unknown Threat) - action-packed detective palp stories from the 1930s – 40s related to investigating mysterious incidents.
