Kanal D (pronounced Canal De ; full name: Kanal Doğan) is a Turkish television channel. It was founded on September 16, 1993 in Istanbul by entrepreneurs Aydin Dogan and Ayhan Shahenk. Since December 19, 1993 it broadcasts on an ongoing basis. Since 1994, it has been part of the Doğan Holding media holding, headed by Turkish entrepreneur Aydin Dogan.

Since 2004, broadcasts in digital broadcasting format . A separate channel Euro D from Germany broadcasts on the territory of the European Union . It is the first Turkish television channel to launch broadcasting in high definition (HD) format . Since July 1, 2013 it broadcasts in widescreen format (16: 9). In 2009, it was the most watched television channel in Turkey.
It is one of the leading producers of Turkish TV shows. Among the most famous: “ A Thousand and One Nights ,” “What is Fatmagul's fault?” (In the Russian version “Guilty Without Guilt”), “ Forbidden Love ”, “North-South”, “Asi”, “My Mother is a Sorceress” , "Revenge", "Dreamers", "How time flies."
