Marcello Bertinetti ( Italian: Marcello Bertinetti , April 26, 1885 , Vercelli - January 2, 1967 , ibid.) - Italian fencer and soccer player, Olympic champion and medalist of the World Cup.

Biography
Born in 1885 in Vercelli , went in for sports at the Pro Vercelli club, was one of the founders of his football division. In 1908, the Pro Vercelli football team, in which Marcello Bertinetti played, became the champion of Italy, and he took part in the Olympic Games in London , where he won a silver medal in the saber fencing team championship and took 4th place in foil fencing team championship. In 1911, he left for Libya , where he began to work as a doctor, and therefore stopped sports.
In 1922, Marcello Bertinetti returned to Europe. In 1924, he took part in the Olympic Games in Paris , where he won the gold medal in the saber fencing team championship and the bronze medal in the sword fencing team championship. In 1928, at the Olympic Games in Amsterdam, Marcello Bertinetti won the gold medal in the team championship on swords. In 1929, he took part in the International Fencing Championships in Naples, where he won a bronze medal in the individual fencing championships with swords (in 1937, the International Fencing Federation retroactively recognized all previously held International Fencing Championships as world championships).
Marcello's son Bertinetti Franco became a two-time ( 1952 and 1956 ) Olympic champion in fencing, and his grandson took 7th place in the team championship on swords at the 1976 Olympic Games .
