Gioacchino Guaranha ( Italian: Gioacchino Guaragna , June 17, 1908 - April 19, 1971 ) - Italian fencer-rapier, multiple Olympic champion and world champion.

Biography
Born in 1908 in Milan . In 1927 he won the bronze medal of the International Fencing Championship. In 1928 he took part in the Olympic Games in Amsterdam , where he won the gold medal in the team championship. In 1929, as part of a team, he won the gold medal of the International Fencing Championship in Naples. In 1930, at the International Fencing Championship in Liege, he won the gold medal for the team championship, and the bronze medal in the personal one. In 1931, at the International Fencing Championship in Vienna, he again received a gold medal as part of a team. In 1932 he took part in the Los Angeles Olympic Games , where he won the silver medal in the team championship (and became the 4th in the individual championship). In 1933, at the International Fencing Championship in Budapest, he won gold medals in the individual and team championships. In 1936, at the International Fencing Championship in Warsaw, he won the gold medal as a member of the team. In 1936 he took part in the Olympic Games in Berlin , where he won the gold medal in the team championship (and became the 5th in the individual championship).
In 1937, the first official fencing world championship was held; at the same time, the International Fencing Federation also recognized all previous International Championships as world championships. In 1938, at the World Championships in Piestany, Joacchino Guarania again won the gold medals in the individual and team championships.
