Orizon Navigation

The production association "Orizon" was organized in 1995 on the basis of units of the Smileansk radio instrument plant "Orizon", engaged in the development and manufacture of navigation equipment (becoming one of 20 enterprises and organizations established on the basis of the plant) ^[5] .

On July 12, 2001, the government of Ukraine adopted a law on state support of enterprises in the aircraft manufacturing industry of Ukraine, in the list of which the Orizon Production Association was included ^[6] .

At the end of 2001, the Ukrainian Association of Television Equipment Manufacturers was created, which included the Orizon Production Association as one of the co-founders ^[7] .

The company has been certified for compliance with ISO 9001-2001 quality management standards (ISO 9001: 2000) ^[8] .

In 2005, Navis-Ukraine LLC was established on the basis of the design office of Orizon-Navigation State Enterprise.

In 2007, the armed complex of Ukraine was adopted by the navigation system CH-3210 "Basalt-K" manufactured by GP "Orizon-Navigation" ^{[9] [10]} (one navigation complex CH-3210 was installed on the armored vehicle CPM-1 "Kozak" , in January 2015, entered service with the Border Guard Service of Ukraine ).

In addition, one navigation complex CH-3003 was installed on the one developed in 2004–2007. armored vehicle " Dozor-B " ^[11] .

In May 2009, the BM Oplot tank was accepted into service with the Ukrainian armed forces (the TIUS information and control system is included in the design, one of the components of which is the CH-3700-03 instrument manufactured by Orizon-Navigation GP).

On July 8, 2009, the L-39M1 training aircraft (a modernized version of the L-39C with the CH-3307 satellite navigation system manufactured by Orizon-Navigation) were adopted for service by the Ukrainian Air Force.

In addition, individual navigation devices CH-3003M ^[10] manufactured by GP Orizon-Navigation (4 pieces in 2011 ^[12] , 60 pieces in 2012 ^[13] and 194 pieces in 2013 ^[14] ). It is reported that this device is able to work with three navigation systems ( GPS , GLONASS and EGNOS ) and at the same time to keep in memory up to 50 different routes ^[15] .

In 2010 ^[16] , the geodesic complex CH-4601 “Tonik-2” manufactured by GP “Orizon-Navigation” ^[10] was accepted into service with the armed forces of Ukraine.

On June 9, 2010, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 405, according to which the company was included in the list of Ukrainian aviation enterprises receiving state support ^[17] .

After the state concern Ukroboronprom was established in December 2010, the company was incorporated into the concern.

In February 2012, the Ukrainian state-owned enterprise Orizon-Navigation and the Benish GPS company equipped GPS navigation systems with eight electric locomotives VL80 of Ukrainian railways (four on the Odessa railroad and four on the South-Western railroad ) in order to assess the possibility of increasing the efficiency of use rolling stock ^[18] . The result of the project was to be the creation of a unified automated system for the management of freight rail traffic.

In December 2012, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine decided to develop a program to modernize the Su-24MR of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, in which 24 Ukrainian enterprises participated (including the SE Orizon Navigation). In April 2013, it was announced that the proposed modernization program for the Su-24MR had been mastered by the Nikolaev Aircraft Repair Plant ^[19] .

On October 14-18, 2013, experts from the Scientific Center of the Ground Forces and the Academy of Ground Forces named after Hetman Petr Sagaydachny with the participation of representatives of the GP Orizon-Navigation tested the new complex of navigation equipment on the basis of the 2C3 Akatsiya 152-mm self-propelled Ukrainian armed forces ^{[20 ]} .

In 2013, the total value of goods produced and services rendered amounted to 84.5 million hryvnia (by 19.8 million hryvnia more than in 2012), the company's net profit for the specified period amounted to about 11 million hryvnia. According to the director of the enterprise V. Maystruk, most of the products produced by the enterprise were delivered to foreign customers ^[21] .

In February 2014, the general director of the Ukroboronprom Group of Companies S.V. Gromov reported that in 2013 the Orizon-Navigation enterprise completed the development of a new navigation equipment ^[22] . Later, in the Lviv Army Academy, tests of the GAZ-66T vehicle equipped with a SN-3003M satellite navigation device and 1T121-1 topo-linker equipment were carried out ^[23] .

In May 2014, it was announced that the company was working on the creation of the first sample of a small-sized personal computer suitable for use in the field ^[24] . On October 7, 2014, representatives of the Ukroboronprom Group of Companies reported that the Orizon-Navigation State Enterprise had developed a sample of high-tech equipment of Ukrainian origin — the small-sized personal computer Karat, which can be used as a ballistic computer ^[25] .

At the end of September 2014, state tests began of a multifunctional complex of intelligence and controlBKRU CH-4003 "Basalt-LPR" ^[10] , which consists of an individual navigation device SN-3003M manufactured by GP Orizon-Navigation and a laser instrument for intelligence of the DM (which includes a laser range finder , an electronic compass and a number of other additional devices) ^[26] (the complex was adopted by the armed forces of Ukraine on July 16, 2015) ^[27] .

At the end of October 2014, Orizon-Navigation State Enterprise transferred artillery computer systems to the Ukrainian army ^[28] .

At the beginning of November 2014, a representative of the plant said that during the past period from the beginning of 2014, the company had fulfilled a contract for the supply of the CH-3003M and CH-3210 equipment sets to the Ukrainian armed forces, installed them at the facilities of the rocket forces and artillery, and also several scientific works commissioned by the Department of Missile Forces and Artillery of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine ^[10] (by the end of 2014, the armed forces of Ukraine received 134 pieces of SN-3003M ^[29] ).

On September 22, 2015, the enterprise for the first time presented the satellite navigation device SN-4215 ^[30] and a prototype of the satellite navigation device СН-3003МН (new version СН-3003М with improved tactical and technical characteristics, reduced dimensions and mass) ^[31] .

In the spring of 2017, the company participated in the modernization of a batch of T-64BV tanks to participate in the competitions “The Strong Europe Tank Challenge-2017” , on which satellite navigation devices manufactured by Orion-Navigation State Enterprise ^[32] were installed (in total, four T-64BVs ^[33] from the 14th mechanized brigade of the ground forces of Ukraine were prepared and shipped ^[33] .

In addition, in 2017, Orizon-Navigation satellite navigation equipment began to be installed on the upgraded T-64B tanks of the 2017 model (until February 11, 2019 more than a hundred T-64B ^tanks were thus re-equipped) ^[34] .
