Wang Tun (王 童), at the birth of Wang Zhonghe (王 中 和; born on April 14, 1942 in Anhui, Republic of China), was a Taiwanese film director with numerous cinema awards [1] for his contribution to the development of Taiwan cinema, was awarded the [2] .

Biography and career
Born in 1942 in Anhui in an educated family, from childhood he is familiar with traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy [3] .
In 1949, he and his parents moved to Taiwan.
In 1962-1965, he graduated from the National Academy of Arts of Taiwan (now the ) with a degree in visual arts [4] [3] . Later he also returned there as a teacher at the film production department [3] , in 1999 he was named “teacher of the year” [5] .
Since 1966, he has worked at [3] . Since the early 1970s, he was directly involved in filmmaking, primarily as a costume designer and production designer.
He made his directorial debut in 1980, directing the shooting of the film " Suppose I Am Real " [3] .
It is considered by a number of film experts to be one of the prominent representatives of the “Taiwan New Wave” [6] , although Van Tong’s assignment to it is ambiguous [3] .
In 2003-2006, he actively participated in the organization of the Golden Horse film festival, both as chairman of its organizing committee and head of the jury.
In 2007 he was awarded the for his contribution to the development of cinema of the Republic of China [2] .
In 2011, according to a survey conducted among film and film studies professionals, he was included in the list of the 50 best directors in the history of Chinese cinema according to the organizing committee of the Golden Horse festival [7] [8] .
