Ivan Mikhailovich [1] Izmailov (1724-1787) - Russian military and statesman of the Izmailov clan. The brother of the Moscow Governor General M. M. Izmailov .
He began his service in 1740 and continued it in cuirassier regiments. Elizaveta Petrovna produced him in second majors (October 25, 1756), in prime majors (May 6, 1757) and in lieutenant colonels (July 7, 1760) [2] .
With the accession of Peter III , the rapid rise of all the Izmailovs took place. Ivan Mikhailovich was promoted to major general on April 2, 1762, and was appointed chief of the Nevsky cuirassier regiment . During the June coup did not allow his subordinates to take the side of Catherine , for which he was dismissed from service immediately after her accession [2] .
Subsequently, the Empress again allowed him to enlist him in the service of the second major of the Horse Guards . In 1768, Izmailov received the Order of St. Stanislaus and St. Anne. Promoted to lieutenant general on April 21, 1773.
Since June 28, 1782 in the civil service as a senator with the rank of full privy councilor . On November 24 of the same year, the Empress conferred the Order of St. Alexandra [2] .
Married to Princess Alexandra Borisovna Yusupova (1744 [3] —1791), sister of the famous philanthropist N. B. Yusupov , had daughters who, after the death of their father, lived in the house of their uncle M. M. Izmailov :
- Mary (1764-14.03.1778), died of consumption [4] .
- Irina (1768-1848), wife of Count Illarion Ivanovich Vorontsov (1760-1790); they have a son, Ivan , the ancestor of the Vorontsov-Dashkovs .
- Avdotya (1780-1850), "socialite", nicknamed Princesse Minuit ; She married Sergei Mikhailovich Golitsyn (1774-1859), but refused to live with him.
