General Description
The length of the river is 93 km [12] , the basin area , counting from the Nushkent village (at the mouth of the river), is 1910 km² (the catchment area above the Kattagan village is 425 km² [1] , this figure can be indicated as the area of the entire basin [12] ) The fluctuations in the average annual water discharge are characteristic of the Tankhizydarya: in high-water years, they increase up to 10.1 m³ / s, in low-water years they decrease up to 1.67 m³ / s [12] . In Nushkent, the mean annual water discharge was 5.46 m³ / s with a coefficient of runoff variability of 0.563 (for 35 years of observations in 1930-1974) [13] . The food of the river is snow and rain, partly also glacial. It is full-flowing from March to June; from the middle of summer, the amount of water decreases [12] .
