Biography
Date of birth is unknown, born in Smolensk, by origin - a Pole . From 1654 to 1685 he served as an organist at the court of Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich and became known for the manufacture of large organs for the Faceted Chamber in the Kremlin and noble Moscow boyars. First mentioned in 1662 in connection with the manufacture of an organ as a gift to the Persian Shah. [one]
The capital's palace theater, founded in 1672, was also equipped with the created Gutovsky organ, and the master himself, with the participation of Timofey Gassenkrukh, organized an orchestra of serf musicians for the theater. [2] In 1677 (according to other sources, in 1678) he produced the first domestic intaglio printing mill for copper engravings (“a wooden printing machine to print fry sheets” [3] ), which was installed in the Upper Printing House of Simeon Polotsky in the royal chambers the palace of the Moscow Kremlin.
