Avdulov, Andrey Nikolaevich

The son of a biologist N.P. Avdulov . He graduated from the Faculty of History of Moscow State University and the Engineering Institute . He worked as a design engineer, was the director of a research institute, led one of the departments of the Ministry of Industry of the RSFSR (Ministry of Machine Tool and Tool Industry). In 1967 he defended his thesis “Research on the control of roundness by the method of exemplary rotation and the development of round gauges for checking the details of precision machines” ^[3] .

He took up close scientific activity in 1983 ^[4] .

• Doctoral dissertation - “Genesis and the modern stage of the integration of science and production (socio-philosophical aspect of the problem)” (1995).

Since 1993, he wrote in collaboration with A. M. Kulkin , as a result of joint activities a number of works on aspects of the development of science in different parts of the world were published.

Avdulov was engaged in the integration of science and production as a holistic, historical process in the second half of the 19th and 20th centuries. He developed periodization on the basis of the institutional approach, corresponding to the specifics of the integration process, which makes it possible to approach the periodization of the scientific and technological revolution in a whole new way, without political preferences, choosing as a generalized indicator the successive stages of the integration process directly related to the development of productive forces and production relations, and getting the opportunity to track scientific and technological progress for more than a century in a single key as a movement from random, episodic and spontaneous to more logical, rational and manageable, demonstrating the ability to influence the course of its development.

He was a famous specialist in the history of the development of science and technology in Japan .
