Biography
Born in 1889 in Moscow.
He worked in 1901-1904 as a boy in various stores in Moscow.
In 1904-1907 he studied at the Moscow Conservatory in the violin class.
In 1908-1910 and 1911-1915 he was an employee of the Moscow Art Theater ( statistician ).
In 1910-1911 he served in the Russian Imperial Army , but was fired due to illness.
In 1915-1916, Popov was an artist of the Moscow Chamber Theater .
In 1916 he was again drafted into the army and until 1918 he was on the Western Front in the administrative department of the 14th Civil Engineering Squad.
After the October Revolution, he continued his acting career. In 1918-1924 he was an artist of the 1st Moscow Art Theater Studio, in 1924-1936 - the Moscow Art Theater 2, in 1936-1968 - an artist of the Moscow Art Theater named after M. Gorky. In addition to acting, he was engaged in pedagogical activities - he taught at the School-Studio named after V.I. Nemirovich-Danchenko at the Moscow Art Theater named after M. Gorky.
Starred in the movie.
He died in 1968 in Moscow. He was buried at the Novodevichy cemetery (7th section, 4th row) [1] .
