Historical Location
The forge-boiler, copper foundry and mechanical plant was located on Simonovoslobodskaya Val Street ( Leninskaya Sloboda Street ) [1] . Nearby was Simonov Monastery .
History
The plant was erected in 1893 by the office of the Russian engineer Alexander Bari [1] . Alexander Veniaminovich leased three tithes of the land of Tyufel's dacha from Pavel Pavlovich von Derviz for construction. After some time, Derviz’s affairs began to deteriorate, then Bari bought the land. Main products: riveted products, tanks and steel boilers. In February 1894, a one-story stone main building was built, it included two buildings. In June 1894, the construction was completed. Steam engines at the enterprise worked on boilers made according to the Shukhov system. 300 employees lived in rented apartments. During working hours, a paramedic was on duty, and a doctor Leventhal took 2 times a week. Since 1895, at the expense of the owner, dinner was given out: cabbage soup, porridge and bread. In March 1895, the official opening took place [2] .
From 1901 to 1905 evening courses were opened to improve the qualifications of workers, workers came here not only from this plant, but also from the entire district [1] .
From 1902 to 1903, workers from the plant had relations with the Social Democratic circle of the Dynamo plant , they illegally gathered in the Tyufel Grove , held strikes in January, May and October 1905, and on December 7 participated in a general political strike, in addition took part in the formation of the " Simon Republic ". In 1905, students headed by V. A. Kostitsyn were in the dining room. From 1913 to 1915, V. Ya. Chubar conducted active propaganda here. Factory workers took part in the February and October Revolution [1] .
After the October Revolution, the plant was renamed the Parostroy plant named after V. M. Likhachev. During the first two five-year plans, it was repaired; boilers and furnaces were produced here [1] .
In the fall of 1941, the plant was evacuated to Kazakhstan [1] .
May 1, 1957 the plant was reorganized into the House of Culture of the Dynamo plant [2] .
In 2008, the remnants of the factory buildings were demolished, and the Omega Plaza office complex began to be built in their place.
Famous People
The engineer and architect V. G. Shukhov worked at the plant [1] .
