Evdokim Filippovich Zyablovsky ( July 31 [ August 11 ] 1764 - March 30 [ April 11 ] 1846 ) - Russian scientist- geographer , statistician , professor and rector of the Imperial University of St. Petersburg .

Biography
He graduated from the Sevsk Theological Seminary. After graduating from the St. Petersburg teacher's seminary (later renamed the teacher’s gymnasium), in 1788 he was sent to serve as a teacher at a public school in Kolyvan . He traveled around Kolyvan governorate at his own expense and drew up his description.
In 1797, Zyablovsky was appointed professor of history and geography, and then statistics; Until 1833, he taught at the same name-changing institution: St. Petersburg Teacher’s Gymnasium , from 1804 - Pedagogical Institute, from 1816 - Main Pedagogical Institute , and from 1819 - Imperial University of St. Petersburg . Since 1818 - an honored professor, since 1846 - an honorary member of the university.
Zyablovsky also taught forestry at the School of Naval Architecture and published The Initial Foundations of Forestry (St. Petersburg, 1804 ). He also wrote the educational course “The course of world history” (St. Petersburg, 1811 - 1812 ). In addition, Zyablovsky translated from German the “General Geography” (St. Petersburg, 1807 ) and compiled the “Historical Tale of the Teacher’s Gymnasium and the Pedagogical Institute” (St. Petersburg, 1838 ).
