Kolok (lake)

Kolok is a lake in the Pribaikalsky district of Buryatia on the territory of the Pribaikalsky Nature Reserve (established April 28, 1981) [2] . The catchment area is 209 km² [3] .

Geography

The lake, with a water mirror area of ​​1.56 km² [3] , is located in the northeastern part of the Sea Range , at an altitude of 579 m above sea level, in the intermontane basin, surrounded by altitudes from 700 to 1200 m, covered with pine-larch taiga.

The lake is stretched from southwest to northeast. Length - 2.5 km, the greatest width - 1.3 km. The average depth is 10 m. Several rivers flow into the reservoir, originating in the watershed of the Sea Range - Bolshaya, Straight, Burlya Kolochnaya and others. Itanza River flows, the right tributary of the Selenga .

The nearest village to the lake, the village of Gurulevo , is located 23 km southeast along the highway that runs along the left bank of the Itantsy from the Barguzinsky tract .
