Denis Valentinovich Kostyuk ( March 13, 1982 , Pervomaisk ) - Ukrainian road racing cyclist , has been performing at a professional level since 2004. Champion of Ukraine in highway group discipline, participant of the grand tours “ Giro d'Italia ”, “ Tour de France ” and “ Vuelta of Spain ”, participant of the Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, winner and prize-winner of many starts of national and international significance. Biography

Denis Kostyuk was born on March 13, 1982 in the city of Pervomaisk of the Nikolaev area . He began to actively engage in cycling in early childhood, at first he underwent training under the guidance of coach Igor Borisenko, and later trained with such specialists as Nikolai Myrza [1] and Victor Titarenko.

The first major success at the international level was in 2003, when, representing the Italian team of Zoccorinese Palazzago, he won the general classification of the Andersky stage race "Gran Premio Palio del Recioto" and became the second at the "Giro delle Regioni". A year later, he signed a contract with the professional continental team Chocolade Jacques-Wincor , took third place in the Ukrainian highway championship and completely went through the Giro d'Italia grand tour, where he showed the 60th result in the final classification. In 2005, he represented the Belgian team Jartazi Granville , was noted second in the starting stage of the Tour de l'Avenir .

In 2006 and 2007, Kostyuk played in the Polish Action-Uniqa team , during this period he won the fifth stage of the Baltic-Krkonose Tour, the third stage of the Qinghai Lake Tour , won bronze at the Ukrainian national championship and won the criteria race. He spent the 2008 season in the Donetsk ISD-Sport Donetsk continental team: he won the Donetsk Grand Prix, became the best in the second stage of the Flash du Sud in the Netherlands, finished third in the fourth stage of the Sochi Grand Prix . Thanks to a series of successful performances, he was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the Beijing Summer Olympics - in the individual group race he showed the 76th result, while in the separate start race he became 36th.

In the period 2009-2010, Denis Kostyuk was a member of the Italian team ISD-Neri . He took part in races of the first and highest categories, including the Tour of Poland , the Tour of Langkawi , the Vuelta of Castile and Leon , the Vuelta of Portugal , although he did not achieve any particularly significant achievements there. In 2011, as part of the Italian Lampre-ISD, he completely drove the prestigious Tour de France supernatural race , a year later he visited the same grand tour with the same team, the Vuelta of Spain , where he took 53rd place in the general classification.

Since 2013, Kostyuk represented the Ukrainian continental team Kolss . With her, he twice won the Race Horizon Park race (2013, 2014), became the champion of Ukraine in highway group discipline. Among other results in this period: third place in the fourth stage of the “ Tour of Bulgaria ”, second place in the general classification of “ Five Rings of Moscow ”, seventh result in the “ Oleg Dyachenko Memorial ”, silver medal at the “ Mayor ’s Cup ” in Moscow [2] [ 3] .

He has higher education, graduated from the Donetsk Institute of Health, Physical Education and Sports. For outstanding sports achievements he was awarded the honorary title "Master of Sports of Ukraine of international class." Married to the famous Ukrainian athlete Olga Saladukha , has a daughter Diana [4] .
