Lefebure Veli was a full-time organist in the Paris churches of St. Roch ( 1841 - 1846 , following his father), St. Magdalene ( 1846 - 1858 ) and Saint-Sulpice ( 1863 - 1869 ).
A friend of the largest French organ master Aristide Cavaye-Cole , Lefebure-Veli was the first to test many organs of his work. Lefebure Veli was considered one of the best organists of his time, famous for his mastery of improvisation. It was he who played the organ during the funeral ceremony of Frederic Chopin .
Lefebure-Veli’s legacy as a composer includes a significant number of sketches and plays for organ, differing, as is commonly believed, more in brilliance than depth, as well as church music, three symphonies, quartets and quintets, the opera “Recruiters” ( French Les Recruteurs ; 1861 ) and etc.
