Biography
Born on January 28, 1962 in the city of Barlen ( Pas-de-Calais department ). He worked as a teacher, was a trade union activist.
In 1978, Michel Dagber joined the Socialist Party, and in 1983, according to the list of socialists, he entered the city council of Barlen . In 1989, he took the post of vice-mayor, oversaw the issues of sports and youth, finance, and since 2001 he served as first vice-mayor. After the death of Mayor Joseph Braban on June 1, 2002, he was elected Mayor of Barlen, after which he twice - in 2008 and 2014 - led the Socialists to victory in the municipal elections in Barlen.
In 2002, Michel Dagber also replaced Joseph Brabant as adviser to the General Council of the Department of Pas-de-Calais from the canton of Barlen, subsequently winning the cantonal elections in 2004 and 2011.
On June 23, 2014, after the resignation of Dominique Dupilé from the post of President of the General Council of the Department of Pas-de-Calais, by 60 votes out of 77, Michel Dagber was elected as the new President of the Council. A week after that, he resigned as mayor of Barlen.
In the elections to the Council of the Department of Pas-de-Calais in March 2015, held under the new conditions in accordance with the territorial reform, ran for councilors from the canton of Ne-le-Min and won the victory. The left-wing forces managed to maintain a majority in the department of Pas-de-Calais, the only one in the north of France, and Michel Dagber was re-elected president of the Council.
In October 2017, Michel Dagber topped the list of socialists in the elections to the Senate of France from the Pas-de-Calais department. His list with 22.29% of the votes received the most votes and two seats in the Senate, one of which he won.
