Exposition
The museum exposition covers the period of Estonian history from antiquity to the restoration of Estonia's independence in 1991.
History
Founded in 1937 [1]
Since 1963, it has been occupying a historic mansion of the 15th century on Vienna Street , previously renovated. In 1961, during restoration work, a well was discovered in the basement of the house [2] . In 1997-2000, the building was reconstructed.
In 2003, the museum became a nominee for the European Museum Forum (EMYA).
