History

The history of South American Formula 4 begins in 2013. At the beginning of the year in Uruguay the idea of ​​creating a new racing series with Signatech race cars built by Signature companies and approved by the FIA ​​arose. This idea was immediately interested and supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Uruguay and the Uruguay Motor Sports Club [1] .

The series uses Signatech race cars with Fiat E-torq engines [2] .

Classification

The scoring system in the series is the same as in Formula 1 and other series in the Formula-4 category: 25 points for first place, 18 for second, 15 for third and further according to the scheme 12-10-8-6-4-2- one. However, at the last stage of the championship, the scoring system is different: 50 points for the first place, 36 for the second, 30 for the third and further according to the scheme 24-20-16-12-8-4-2. Also, riders are awarded bonus points: one for the pole position and the best lap in the race [2] .
