Louville Crater ( lat. Louville ), not to be confused with Liouville Crater ( lat. Liouville ) - a large impact crater on the northeast coast of Storm Ocean on the visible side of the Moon . The name was given in honor of the French astronomer and mathematician Jacques Eugène Louville (1671-1732) and approved by the International Astronomical Union in 1935.

Crater Description
The immediate neighbors of the crater are the Foucault Crater in the northeast; Sharp Crater in the east-northeast and Meran Crater in the southeast. To the west of the crater is the Sharp furrow ; in the north is the Bay of Dew [1] . Selenographic coordinates of the center of the crater , diameter 34.8 km [2] , depth 1.87 km [3] .
The Louville crater is completely destroyed over the long time of its existence and represents a decrease in the terrain of irregular shape without clear boundaries. The western part of the shaft remains is covered by the Louvil B satellite crater (see below).

- The Luvil D satellite crater is included in the list of craters with a bright ray system of the Association of Lunar and Planetary Astronomy (ALPO) [4] .
