St. Spiridonievskaya Almshouse is one of the charity projects of the Orthodox Relief Service “Mercy”. The almshouse provides round-the-clock care for elderly and seriously ill people. As of 2016, 19 seriously ill wards live in the St. Spiridonievsky almshouse, most of which are only accessible by wheelchairs. Care of the wards is carried out by professional nurses who have graduated from a medical school or patronage courses. Their responsibilities include: hygiene; monitoring the condition of the inhabitants (most of them are seriously ill); measurement of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate; distribution of medicines; injections dressings; distribution of food, washing, cleaning and disinfection of premises.

History
The St. Spiridonievsky Almshouse was established in 1999 in Moscow. Initially, the almshouse was created primarily for single seriously ill patients of the First City Hospital and was located in two four-room apartments. In 2014, a separate house was allocated for the needs of the almshouse in the Cherkizovo area.
The St. Spiridonievsky almshouse exists through a subsidy from the Department of Labor and Social Welfare, as well as charitable donations, including those from Friends of Charity - permanent benefactors of the Orthodox Relief Service “Charity”.
When St. Spiridonievsky almshouse operates the church of Spiridon, Bishop of Trimyphunt [1] .
